PTE exam booking is often the top priority for the test takers. The exam date in itself makes the PTE aspirants anxious. The high price, prospect of clearing the exam, rescoring are some of the few factors that can give you goosebumps.
In this post we are going to talk about the process and steps involved in PTE exam booking.
PTE exam booking fee :
Pearson is a vast organization with test centers located in over 50 different countries. Now each country has a different currency and different fee structure for the PTE test. Here is a look at the exam fee of some of the major test-taking countries:
Country | Currency | PTE Exam Booking Price |
India | INR | 11,800 |
Australia | AUD | 330 |
New Zealand | NZD | 385 |
United Arab Emirates | AED | 980 |
Egypt | USD | 150 |
Singapore | USD | 250 |
Now there are some local taxes involved as well which varies from country to country. You can know the details by going to the Pearson test centres & fees page.
Now Pearson does provide you the option of rescheduling & cancellation of the PTE Exam. What I would recommend is to think about it before making your PTE Exam booking. In short, avoid rescheduling and cancellation as it can be pretty expensive.
Here are some charges involved in your PTE rescheduling :
Rescheduling a week before your exam :
You will be asked to pay an additional 25% of the test fee if you reschedule your test before a week.
Rescheduling within a week of your exam :
If you are planning to reschedule within a week of the test date, it can be a pretty expensive affair. In fact, you will have to pay the total exam fee for rescheduling the PTE Test.
Cancellation of PTE Test
There are two options for canceling the PTE Exam:
- If you cancel the test within a week of the test date, you won’t get any refund.
- In case you cancel the exam a week before the test date, you will be entitled to a 50% refund of the total fee amount.
That is why it is always recommended that while doing your PTE exam booking, you should always consider these factors and book your exam accordingly.
It is always recommended to book a test date with a difference of 30 days. This way you get to have ample time for the PTE preparation. Sometimes it gets difficult to get a test date in the 30 days slab. Don’t worry you can surely grab the next possible date.
Always try to ensure that you crosscheck the reviews of your nearest Pearson authorized test centers and compare it with the available nearby ones. Try to choose the nearest test centers. However, if a center is known for its excellent exam conductance procedure; try to use them even if they are a bit far.
